Fizzling bomb

In my effort to garner participants in my previous post on paying it forward, I have whipped something up over the weekend that may well go into the care packages that I am putting together. Rather than sending out stuff from my favourite smellies shop, Lush, I have started making toileteries.

Made from all natural ingredients, these bath bombs contain citric acid, bicarbonate soda, PURE essential oils, all natural rose petals/lavender and just a smidgen of natural coloring to make it all pretty instead of looking ghastly white. I tried one yesterday in my bath ,and the whole floor was just filled with a heavenly rosy smell of rose essential oil. Not chemically made, mind you, only pure essential oils are used in my products. I have very sensitive skin, and bath products sometimes plays havoc with my skin due to the extremely long list of unpronouncable chemicals.

Now, aren’t they just so edible looking???? Being me, even my bath products are made to look like cupcakes.

I am going to continue making them, and with any luck the bath bomb that I send out will be close to retail looking perfection. If you have not used bath bombs before, they scent your bath with lovely smelling oils which is good for your skin as you soak in it as well. They are not bubble baths, which uses chemicals to foam up the bath.

If you don’t have a bath, do not fret, as I had also made some lavender glycerin soap! Due to the lavender flowers that I have embedded into the soap, this is good for a face or body scrub as well. Again, nothing but pure glycerin, lavender essential oils, lavender flowers and a drop of coloring. If you have oily skin, I can replace the lavender essential oils with tea tea oil instead – dry skin will work well with palmarosa.

BTW, these are practice runs – those pictured are the first time I am making any kind of toilteries. Hopefully batch 2 will come out looking more presentable. As I had splurged on ingreddients and tools, I am also going to start taking orders for them. So if you would like to order handmade all natural toilteries, email me!!

Wah I’m impressed. And they do look good enough to eat. Don’t leave them around in the presence of kids! Hah!

Too much effort for bathing if you ask me……….

The idea of a shower is to get it over with and emerge clean ( and hopefully it is because you have worked up a good sweat ;-) prior to entry into said shower……..)

Enjoyed the previous post BTW-but I don’t need a gift. Just more posts here on life in Blighty……….

moo: I know!! So pretty!!Hahahah…I need to stop myself from making more of it!

Skipps: I think I made them to just stare at, rather than use!

Okidoki – it’s a good thing as well, otherwise I would need to find you a job back in the far east as a ‘happy’ suprise!

Mandy: Are you proud of me???Hahhahaa…I have ordered more raw materials as well, and will be coming up with more. Ang koo kueh is a good idea – I might get the mould and stuff it with soap!

I have been a Lush-ie for years but with the birth of Etsy and so many other crafters starting to made soaps and other products themselves, I’ve realized that I can find BETTER quality items for better prices. And I’m helping small business. Awesome stuff.

Since you mentioned that you have skin sensitivities and use only pure oils, I wanted to point you toward Aromatics International. The owner is a clinical aromatherapist and tests all her oils for quality before she sells them. You can actually download the reports to learn about the oils before making any sort of commitment to buy.

I don’t know what kind of volume you require but she does offer discounts of 40% off (the prices are reflected on the site) for bulk sizes.

Please free free to poke me directly for more info. Andrea loves seeing her oils integrated into other products. It’s a really exciting way to share the love of pure oils and what they can do.

mavis: Its just like decorating cupcakes!

alicia: I just started reading the book yesterday, so not gone far at all, but I’ve got myself insured now, so I can drive the car with L plates! Reminded me – I never replied to your email did i? Will do today!

Maria: Thanks for that. I had a look, and it’s a shame that it’s shipping from US, which makes purchasing items very prohibitive even with the exchange rates!

rn: Suprisingly it is pretty easy! Just the task of getting all the initial inggredients together. I am giving them away btw, see post below.

reen: Hello!!! Shame I don’t think the materials are available in Msia, otherwise I can teach you how to make em!!

Playing around with other recipies in the meantime though, so you’d never know!
