I wonder what will the Boleh Government make of all this. After their grandoise plans of speaking to her mother and saving her soul, she basically just came out saying that prostitution had given her good sex.
This is just one of the few examples of what kiasu parents can turn their child into. I was never pushed that far, due to it being an accepted fact that I was not going to go very far anyway – until I startled eveyone by excelling in college .Of course, it was only the Malaysian kiasu education system that failed me, I did not fail me. People take the piss out of the American education system, but it taught me more in the 4 years what the Malaysian education system could not even achieve 1% of in the 5 years before.
Not everyone are born to be doctors,and parents need to accept that instead of pushing their children way above their limits. Children should be allowed to experience a real childhood of playing and learning and getting to know the world, not forced to stare at times tables all day long. I know parents world over would mumble its for the child’s own good, but I really do wonder if it was more for the parents to have bragging rights, another tumpang glamer incident to live their live through their child.
I vow not to push my child to that sort of limits

As with kids having the chance to be kids – true that too. I think if ever our kids turn out to be prodigies, there should be a balance between play and satisfying their needs for knowledge.

“Yes Timmy. Go out and play and I will let you surf Wikipedia for an extra hour today.”

You know boleh govenment and their superior attitute towards all things that they presume is wrong and will bring you to hell.
She is a full grown woman, and fair enough, she had been traumatised by parents who push too much too early and had never been given a chance to properly rebel like most of us did in our mid-teens. With brains like that, she is a valuable asset to the City and its perpetual need for number crunchers, but if this line of work makes her happy and like a princess, then why not.
Especially in Asia, there is too much stress on acedemics, and that on itself is harmful. I am sure all of us here who had grown up in malaysia or singapore will remember the endless tuition classes that we JUST HAVE TO HAVE – I for one would like to see tuition classes in critical thinking and not just spoonfed formulas

The govt sure has something up their sleeve. Maybe they intend to pull her back to Malaysia and say, see we have a genius, when afterall she wasn’t even Malaysian to start off with!!

true true again !!! btw during my recent holiday to msia this relative of mine was sending their 5 yr old kid for tuition ! i was like what !!!
at 5 i was too busy palying batu seremban and galah panjang ! but then agian they said if we dont the other kids will get ahead of her since they also send their kids for tuition at 5 . So in a way i see why. all this kiasuness for nothing !
btw visited her site and very air brushed !
