Is the fear of the unknown PAS led government unnesacarry, or are businesses in Kedah (one of the states that PAS gained in the elections) doing the right thing?
The realities of living and working under a PAS-led Kedah are beginning to take effect.Hotels and entertainment outlets are already making “adjustments” they deem necessary to suit the unprecedented political environment here.
A top hotel in the town centre here has removed its beer till at the coffee house
Another hotel is reviewing the dress code for staff.
Other establishments used to hosting lavish events are worried that they may have seen the last of such functions under the new PAS-PKR government.

Another piece of news that caught my eye in today's news is the death of Zakaria Deros. An extremely ironic time to pass away seeing that the elections have just ended. For those not in the know, he is the BN assemblyman of Port Klang. His far reaching power enabled him to build a castle comprising of 16 bedrooms and 21 toilets without planning permission. Other evils including operating a satay restaurant illegally on government reserve land and not paying property assessment fees (council tax) for 12 years.
And he got away scot-free even after this was all made public. I wonder whether the same thing would’ve happened if he was a representative of one of the Opposition parties.
He was ,of course, not nominated again come this election. However, the top dogs decided to nominate his daughter in law instead to take over his place. No, this is sooooo not cronyism. Happy to report that the daughter in law lost.

You need to stop reading too much from thestar as obviously this newspaper is very very bias on BN side. And BN is using the fact that DAP is cooperating with PAS to worry the chinese, check out all the MCA speeches after the election and you will see. PAS already stated clearly that they are not going to implement islamic laws on their governing states even if their people became the chief minister, except Kelantan which is already an Islamic state. They are just part of the ruling party, that’s all. They do realize that they are doing better being a more moderate party and not a radical one. One of the oppositions vision is to have a party/government that is not race distinguished, do not group DAP=chinese, PAS=Malay, PKR=Indian, like BN did with UMNO, MCA and MIC. That way, all races in malaysia will always remain seperated… Go read Tony Pua’s blog. Don’t get brain-washed by the mainstream medias. You are smarter than that. Like I said, if they really just do watever they want without concerns to every malaysian, they can be voted out easily next time around.
BTW, I think that fella cannot sleep lah after the election, sure cannot live long, if not heart attack also… I think alot of ministers need to Zao Lou soon.
eh…you suddenly sounding like spiritual leader of PAS…read properly la..what it said was only that the businesses are afraid, not that Mr. PAS has come out and say that no miniskirts should be allowed or no beer to be sold. The only reason the article is here is food for thought, not that I am blabing that PAS is outlawing miniskirts and beer.
And PKR/DAP is not a single race party – if there was one category to lump PKR with it would be islam seeing that its headed by Anwar Ibrahim and not Hindraf supporters.HOWEVER, PAS is most DEFINATELY a single race party along the lines of UMNO – I dare you to deny that.
I think politics should always be judged with an open mind – its more of choosing the lesser evil rather than dreaming of the one party who will make all your dreams come true. Charting dreams are very different from efficient delivery. This is why politics is dirty and talk is cheap and this is also why I try very hard not to blog anything about it.
So…this will be the last post
As for deros…harhar..i think what happened was he got an heart attack that his daughter in law lost- I’m sure he thinks that she would be elected so he can continue breaking the law.
I think next one to watch out is samy vellu and Koh tsu koon..
