I (and bacon) are now officially certified masseuse – we have a Diploma in Indian Head Massage (IHM) that says so!
The class was quite cool, other than the fact that it was held in a really dodgy part of town – fairly close to the Leeds jail. It was a little too short for my own liking, but fairly comprehensive with details on a need to know basis – I have seen coursework of someone who went to a 6 month certification period for IHM – they did not even start touching the head until week 4 or 5! As the UK is moving towards the litigation-happy attitutes of the States, there are pointers on conducting consultation to ensure that client are ok to be massaged – and also information on getting a practictioner’s insurance,which will indemnify you in case you break your client’s neck.Choy.
So anyway. It has been quite interesting, and I plan to do more classes on alternative therapies like such.Of course I got a hammering from my mom who see no point in me doing courses like these unless I plan to become a massage parlour girl – with all it’s red light conocations. I think probably next on my list would be either swedish massage or aromatheraphy massage. It will probably be a year-long course so we shall see when the school term starts in Sept. It would be quite nice to run a little business from home providing treatments ect. With tarot reading. And jewelry selling. Yes, I do keep myself very busy indeed.
Of course my business plan still need to be redefined, but at the moment I am looking for help in creating a brand. Branding is very important,and alas, I suck big time in it. Anyone nice enough to create a logo for me or think of some name I can trade under?

Oh, my no-carb plan crashed and burned so badly over the weekend. Dinner at Kasa Rosa on Friday, chinese buffet on Sat and ended up with a lip-smacking Thai buffet on Sunday. I am now back to two-egg-one-carrot diet for today. Countdown – 12 days left to ibiza.

No idea for brand name or logo but since you are going to Ibiza, keep your eyes open for funky names and logos. You might get inspired.
And when you come back, maybe you can get in touch with YC or Louyau and expand on the ideas that you might have. 
maybe i should just use ,”the fat masseuse”
confirm scare away all the clients.My problem is that I have no graphics program or even adobe to create any logos.

As for the name, actually “The Fat Masseuse” is funky. I like it.
what happen if they think its a massage place for fat people?can you imagine if my clients are all lardy 300pounders? with layers of dirt stuck between their layers of lard?
ok, I am just being downright insensitive now..but I seriously don’t think I can do it!

At last you got ur cert…congrat! If u are interested in Aroma and Swedish massage course, I suggest u look into ITEC or IFA cert. It is internationally recognized. Duration is abt 6-12months.
Hey do you remember… last time when we talked abt massage in UK. Bacon said ppl might think massage is something else. But as long you qualified should be no problem. Try not use the word massage parlour. Personally I prefer something like holistic or therapeutic. Btw, Michael told me in Germany some of his hotel guests asked abt Thai Massage it means “Ta Fei Kei”….so funny. I’ll let u know some idea for brand name later.

yes, I am itec for IHM!
Cannot ask them to shower simply..cause it will be discrimitory.if they come caked in mud also have to touch:(.But I already decided that I am going to wipe them with wet wipes. There is a developement in holistic approach here, reiki is fast developing.
And I think the best is offer services through beauty parlor/salon.That way it won’t be kinky..and yes, when people offer thai massage it almost always means somehting else.
btw, I went for facial/massage yesterday.My massage nicer than the one they gave me.Pathetic right

Yah can you imagine?I’m think red fishnet stockings me – with pvc boots.My poor mom is displeased at the thought of me spending any of my time doing anything but producing grandkids…never thought the day would come huh.Now that just sounded 80% gross & 20% disgusting.
