Christmas withdrawal
It is over at last. After numerous presents,it is over, and my tree is bare of any pretty presents. It sure has been like Santa’s been….I have recevied presents from people that I have no idea who they are..relatives of Bacon’s relatives.Nothing small mind you,I received a £20 GAP voucher and some £50 odd quid from the same person. And silly bacon has no idea how is that particular person related to him, which made it more like christmas!
With Bacon telling one and all that I like pink,I now have loads of presents in all sorts of glaring pinks. From an ah lien metallic leather purse (which I have returned..:P) to pink piglet scarf to bath robe, I am going on pink withdrawal! And because I asked around for availibility of facials (hello, bride to be here!), I have received a fucking face steamer.Don’t play play ok…a face steamer! Hahahaha.Complete with scrubs and masks ect to allow me to turn into cinderella.
It’s the apres noel sales now, which is totally amazing because most things are at 50% off.Cute christmas boxed sets are all at 50%off…I got myself boxed creams and stuff from Body Shop, went crazy at boots and will be off to Marks and Spencer’s soon.I love this sale…at last I can afford to buy myself some new clothes. Did not get much though, other than the 7 pairs of socks..I never used to wear socks in Malaysia, always preferring to go barefooted.
Anyway…to my fav topic,xmas foods!!
Dinner at the mother-in-law’s

Duck and turkey with all the trimmings

Traditional Christmas Pud with sparklers..yay

We made a gingerbread house…this is Bacon’s geeky side

All puffed out..Bacon is so full that I am able to balance wasabi peas on the ridge of his big fat tummy
And then…Dinner with the father-in-law;ableit in a hotel

Smoked salmon…sibeh good leh.

Bacon’s pink roast beef

My ‘pink’ lamb
And the piece de la resistance…sticky toffee pudding.Looks like shit (literally) but one bite and I’m hooked!

Sorry all for the quality of the pictures…I was with ‘adults’ so I did not want glaring looks at what a crazy loon this new addition to the family was.Oh well, when I am officially in,I will trot around asking everyone to stop eating so I can snap away
How was everyone’s christmas?
Happy christmas!!!

Yay!
Its christmas but it’s not white..bah.Rather,the sun’s shining brightly and it looks like a bitterly cold winter’s day outside. And I am happy with my pressies..:).Well,so far.I have only opened Simon’s presents and we’d need to go around to get give and receive presents from other people. And I am seriously getting fat with all the christmas cheer of food and drinks. This is like kwai lou chinese new year, nonstop eating and snacking.

The tree’s looking good

Sorry,no makeup.Don’t shriek! My pooh indoor socks with a 3D pooh head.Heehee.So I won’t have cold feet and stun Bacon in the middle of the night again.

Bacon searching under the tree for pressies

Found!
What did I get?Makeup, clothes, necklace, book on digital photography ,the funky socks and a sweater. Oh! And a mini tripod!
Bacon received a tshirt,Burberry Touch (yum),books,candy and lingerie.As in girl’s lingerie.More like a gift for me..:D
And we both ended up giving each other £60.Which was really strange…he wrote me a card with £60 and I wrote him a card with £60 inside as well.Hahaha!
Off to the in-laws soon…for a long night of boozing and eating and snacking and talking shit.I think.I am just getting fatter and fatter and fatter..

Happy christmas all!
P.S: The two tubes of Colgate glaringly visible under the tree is not a gift for some sod…we bought them for us and just ‘conviniently’ left it under the tree,as it is whitening toothpaste..thought it might just bring the cheer of a white christmas.
Bad blogger
I have been a bad, bad girl.
For those of you that thinks that I’ve fallen off the face of the earth, sorry,I’m still alive and kicking. The Bacon’s laptop had beena acting up,and we’ve been trying to connect my laptop via our wireless, but I’ve gotta say that it’s been acting up as well which is driving me totally bonkers. I would fall asleep waiting for the laptop to boot up ,and 3 hours later would awake to the laptop still trying to bootup.
Niasing.
So, still alive and preparing for my first English Christmas. No snow in sight, not good.Wrapped about 40 presents to date…and am really glad that most of my shopping has been done in KL,the prices here are killer. I only had to buy Bacon’s presents here, and not done too bad actually..not going to state what they are, cause Bacon has wisen up and started stalking my blog..
Oh, decorated my first real pine christmas tree as well!!Very nice…I like. It’s actually very different from a real one..towards the top of the tree it’s more ‘botak’ or bald, which means that not many baubles can go on top,it’s more like a pear shaped tree.I’ve piled presents at the bottom of the tree to make it real pretty and all..and I must say, this has gotta be the first christmas where I have actually piled on real presents at the bottom and not wrapped empty Bata shoeboxes! Pressies hooray! I can’t wait for Christmas!
Will be doingg pictures soon…I have been snap-crazy,but just had no access to any computer-like apparatus during the last week, and am now alternatingg between reading my emails and blogging and reading blogs..so many things, so little time arrrrgh
As I am half drunk now and it’s nearly 2am, I will now leave you in peace, and blog again in about another 12 hours
Stay tuned!
I’ve been pawed
Laundry day again…and this time for sheets. Popped them in,and out came paw prints
You see, tetley sleeps on our bed all the time..either our bed or the bed in the spare bedroom.I’ve always hated getting jet back fur on our bed,but bacon always insists that as long as I make the bed and keep it covered, its ok.
Fine.
The sheets are now drying outside.Muddy paw prints all over the sheets are now part of the pattern of my sheets. It will NOT come out!!
As if he knows, the cat is now cuddling up to me as I write this.
Housewife on crack
Its been ages since I got into one of this ‘I need to clean’ mood…and boy, since yesterday, the mood is really like as if I am on crack and I cannot come down
It all started off with me receiving my wedding confirmation. Bureaucracy at it’s best, I rang yesterday to change the date and my confirmation arrived via post today.Hats off to Leeds Registrar’s office!
In the midst of happy happy joy joy, I popped a load of laundry into the machine..and proceeded to clean the spare bedroom aka laundry room.Deciding that the floor’s getting a little dirty,I started mopping the floor of the room. Not content with one room being clean,I rearranged and vacummed the living lounge whilst waiting for the laundry to finish it’s round.
After hanging up the clothes,I continued vacumming the living lounge..even moving the sofa around to get under it.It’s like as if I’ve gone nutters and that piece of long-forgotten crisp under the sofa was the most important thing in the world.
Then I decided it’s time to water my christmas tree.Afer the poor nordic fir being left outside for two weeks…all around me everyone’s tree is up except me.After struggling with the stupid tree that weighs a ton…

Ah hah!
Not content with the crazy happenings of the day, I started mopping the kitchen as well. After ages spent getting catfood stains out from the kitchen floor and month-old withered beef left on the kitchen floor,my kitchen is sparkling again! Woohoo…
And then I went up to the bedroom to get the cat….which then turned out to be me changing the sheets and then putting another load of laundry into the machine.
Bacon called to tell me that we’re going out for dinner, which means no cooking dinner for me..being so high on housewife duties,I am actually really dissapointed! Oh,never fear, I can still make lunch for him to bring along tomorrow. Joyfulness!
This housewife thing is really getting out of hand..I cannot wait to bring the tree in tomorrow and start decorating.Plus there are still my wedding gifts to wrap to give to guests, cards to design, jewelry to make for myself…..

You know it’s christmas when your cold cuts are shaped into christmas trees!!

Waking up at 6.30am is never my forte…especially after making earrings until 1am the night before.Factor in the freezing cold of the morning, crawling out of bed has never been so difficult, the lure of the business that lays ahead did nothing to change that.
After we both managed to crawl out of bed at 6.45,I stumbled downstairs to make a flask of hot jasmine tea to bring along. We were supposed to arrive at 6.30am…got there at 7.30 and no one was there..other than the men setting up stalls for us. Bah..kena conned again.
After an initial flurry of confusion on where are our stalls ect…

We’re in business!
Due to the harzadous working condition that this designer had been subjected to (poorly lit studio aka living room),I noticed that crystals on my earrings are not always properly matched..one side green, one side blue.
So I set to work in the freezing cold…you try working without gloves at 1c and let me know how much fun that is..

As usual, I feel like a big fat wonton.I had my beanie on all day that when I eventually came home, I felt that I still had it on.
We stood around miserably as our neighbours started making brisk sales…whislt our stall was customer-less until noon…that meant 3 hours of standing around looking at other people making money..I nearly cried.
So, due to our business-less business, I started taking snapshots..which actually attracted customers to the stall because they were wondering what the heck was I doing..

Sorry, not very clear. My pearl necklaces saved the day

Modern variation of the classic pearl strand..My first sale was this in ah lien pink.

Floating pearl strands..very popular

Bacon bliss…bwahahahha!My Business Developement Manager

Earrings that did not do too well that day, I sold 6 pairs of my £8 earrings only..those of blood, sweat and tears

You can see the ahlien pink strand that was my first sale still there..
All in all, £100 gross profit of that day…could not find the organiser when we were clearing up, so did not pay the £30 rental! Hahaha..Yeah, I cheated,so what?
It was not really worth the biting cold…but it’s a good first proper try. What did I expect from a geriatic village?I told my mom that it’s filled with old people thus lunabliss is too hip for Morley, and she said that I should design to cater to the crowd..I explained that it was like selling earrings to my grandma and that shut her up.Hehe.
I miss my shareholders…*sniff*

We have a catalouge of our work here. Well, the girls do, I have yet to upload my stuff. If you are in Asia and would like to purchase some lunabliss, please contact lunabliss@gmail.com
Otherwise,I am available at lunablissuk@gmail.com.
Either way, quote that you came through my blog and receive a 5% discount!!
Congrats Spike…..too!
This is going to sound so bimbostic, but…
I just realized that another one of my fav blogger,Spike of the Hongkie Town fame, has also been voted in the Best Asian Blog final!
Now,two of my top bloggers are in the finals…I’m getting Si to vote from the office as well.Anyone in search of a good laugh, check those two troublemakers out!
With the cream of the crop of Asian bloggers there, heavens knows why are people still voting for the irritating little pink blob who’s been fired as a professional journalist. And she seem to be winning as well by a yard. This world must be filled with more brainless teenyboppers that I realize.
The return of Bridezilla & Groomzilla
The zilla’s are back in action!
I will be devoting quite abit of time on my other blog in the comming month, but will definately not neglect this one for the ordinary things in my life.Or exordinary.Whatever.
Am I scared to be taking this big step in my life? Shivering, peeing my pants. But sometimes you just need to close your eyes and jump for the happiest day of your life.

Woohoo!
We are going on sale again. This time at my neighbourhood Morley Christmas Fair.Crowd expectation? BIG.
Temperture?Freezing. I can’t believe I’d be outside all day this weekend..from stall setup at 6.30am until closing at 7pm. All for £30 a day. We’ll see how well I do on Sat,and decide if I still want to do it for Sunday, as Sunday I’d need to close early due to Si going out of town for work.
In the meantime, gotta churn them earrings out.Si’s off tomorrow as we are due at the registrar’s office, with him around,I can’t seem to get anything done properly,so here’s hoping I get at least 10 pairs of earrings out tomorrow
I seem to be running out of stock of the essentials as well, which is not good..i.e. hooks and headpins. This weekend might be a good time to get rid of all the pearl necklaces that I have in stock.Heck, get rid of all my earrings since we’re at it!I can’t wait to sell them all off..even though every single one is a little bit of me
As usual, no more fun and games for me till sales day..hopefully,this time it’ll be better than my last dismal sale of only 6 pairs of earrings
No more blogging,if I can keep my hands off the keyboard!
Congrats Shaky!

Congrats are in order to Shaky! Our man had made it to the 2005 Best Asian Blog award finals!
Shaky was the one that got me addicted to reading blogs..discovering his blog was like discovering a brand new channel on TV!I just could not get en-Hoff of his earlier bloggings…so much so that in one of our MSN chats he told me that I am over-stalking him:)
No doubt who I will be voting for there!
